Bob l'éponge

Had a pass off lesson with the elders (one of which is from Quebec) told our friend that one of the elders can do cool voices imitations. Told him to do sponge Bob (said it in english cuz I didn't know if it translated) then the Canadian elder proceeded to say "bob l'éponge" I never laughed so hard. Funnier coming from him

Had a big miracle with one of our friends this week! Our friend Ravanui told us last Monday that she picked a date for baptism! We we're so excited for her! The next day we had a lesson behind the temple. Side note: Behind the temple is the appartements for the members from outer islands to stay while they do temple work. Before she came we were talking with the branch president who is from Takaroa (another island in the Tuamotus) Ravenui then came and we introduced them. We kinda jokingly kinda seriously invited him to our lesson. It was so awkward at first and we didn't know if we made a mistake by inviting him. But then he started talking about his conversion and how the gospel has blessed his life. He then shared her favorite scripture and thats when she started crying. She started talking about how she'd been having doubts about her baptism but she prayed about it just that morning to know if it was right. This member from the tiny island of Takaroa who was only on Tahiti for about a week answered her prayer. We would have had no idea. She didn't say anything. But this spirit lead beast (who i now think is one of the three Nephites) followed a small prompting. After that he literally got up and left never to been seen again.

God answers prayers. Not only the prayer of Ravanui but our prayers. Its been SO hard for us in this ward. But if the members of this ward don't help us God will send someone else. (Advice is welcomed for how to work with a ward who does not care) we have tried just about everything 🥲

Elder $oares à Tahiti

YOOO my time is running out as a missionary. I'm gonna miss it. Especially when we have weeks like this one. God decided I needed to go out with a bang for my last transfer. Elder Soares came to Tahiti and spoke for my very last zone conference. It was exactly what I needed. You and me go fishin in the dark 🐟🌛

Yes I did indeed go fishing in the dark but it ain't the same vibe as the song :// Also jokes on all you of who drop hundos on fishing gear, all you need here is an empty water bottle, string and bait. Man I think I'm obsessed with fishing now. This week was exhausting. Our days start with lessons at 8am and goes until 8pm. It's non stop all day long. It is work! Sometimes all I want to do is take a nap in a cold dark room but it's all worth it when the amis change because of Jesus Christ, and you can see the fruits from your labors. We've been working with another family and just yesterday they decided to get married and baptised April 30th. I told them I was getting transferred at the beginning of May and what do you know it! I guess they want me to be here for it  I know you are all so sick of me talking about the Book of Mormon but legit everytime I read it, I think to myself "this is amazing how have I never read this before" A quote that I found this...

Provo, draper, and alpine

Image putting 3 sisters from provo, draper and alpine together. Don't worry we've already laughed about it hahaha but yes a sister get ETed into our companionship. I love trios so no complaints! This week we got to drive around all of Tahiti for some filmings. One mans example really touched me. Some background: He doesn't have a lot of things in life, no phone no car, no bike. His house was made out of cement with sometimes no roof covering it. His conversion story is amazing, but after we were done filming we saw that he had a big table of fruits. (Usually pretty common for people here to sell fruit for a living) Next thing we know he's putting together a whole bag for us. I run out to the car to get some money and when i tried to give it to him, he very sternly refused.
